An existing channel through the extensive wetland above the dam has been cleared and shaped into 6km of winding waterways. A community pontoon boat able to seat 12 will be purchased and equipped with cooler box and gas braai for lazy afternoon cruises upstream.
A bird hide has been erected and is accessed over a sand bridge walkway built over the wetland, or by canoe from the jetty. An abundance of aquatic birds can be spotted from here, as well as leguaans, terrapins and buck.
Residents have full use of the well established, grassed picnic area with plenty of shade-providing trees, a slipway, ablution block, built in braai and fire pit and the use of a wooden cabin.
Plots with skiing rights can ski on the dam subject to the home owners rules.
